Carl has a natural flare for art; his mum tells everyone he was born with a paintbrush in his hand. Capable of creating a masterpiece out of anything and can lend his hand to watercolour, oil paint, caricatures and even pottery he taught art at a USA children’s summer camp. He grew up on programmes like “Art Attack” and Tony Hart and is sure to shake up TV with his own brand of art.
Carl painted a portrait for Victoria and David Beckham which was displayed proudly on Brooklyn’s bedroom wall. He is also presently creating a series of celebrity portraits of chat show hosts including Richard and Judy and Paul O Grady on behalf of charity Claire House. Richard and Judy are running book groups across the country- so Carl made their portraits entirely made from books! Paul O Grady’s portrait on the other hand ties in with Liverpool’s place as Capital of Culture 2008. More celebrity portraits are to follow.
At University he was chosen by the Royal Shakespeare Company to lend a helping hand designing and making costumes for the Welsh Theatre and showing his creativity doesn’t just stop at drawing and painting he won Aberystwyth University’s Fashion Designer Competition, -move over Versace!
Wirral Borough Council asked him to construct art displays around a jungle theme to promote Wirral Libraries “The Big WILD Read” including 3D tigers and parrots to invade the library. At the moment, he is writing and illustrating a children’s storybook “Mrs Bell the Dinner Lady from Hell” about a boy called Sam who gets revenge on his dinner lady for making him eat sprouts.
